International Connections and ePortfolios: Transformative Learning Experiences ~ David Stoloff
PreK – 12, Higher Ed, School & District Administration

Teachers of English language learners seeking electronic pals were recruited to encourage their students to correspond with undergraduates at Eastern Connecticut State University.  In Spring 2010, our international connections were posted on pbworks.  During Spring 2011, Eastern’s students developed powerpoint presentations on aspects of culture in Spain, Catalonia, Turkey, and China which were available for viewing by students in these programs using wordpress.com and Microsoft Live’s SkyDrives.  In Summer 2011, students developed presentations on Russia, Costa Rica, and China.

During Fall 2011, we are exploring the uses of wordpress.com blogs and skype to connect with international educators and learning.  In this session, we hope to connect with

and will review the powerpoint presentations being developed by undergraduates at https://interconescu.wordpress.com/interconecsu-fall-2011/ and the developing International Forum for Undergraduate Students.

The international connections between these students provided high impact learning intercultural experiences for Eastern’s students and were displayed as part of their electronic portfolios.
