Intercultural Connections among Universities (ICUs): Building a 24-hour Undergraduate Open Educational Resource. A session at the OERcamp.global 2021, hosted by the German Commission for UNESCO and Agentur J&K – Jöran und Konsorten.
Abstract
Intercultural Connections among Universities (ICUs) is an evolving network of university faculty and students who host global conversations on place-based pedagogy, leading edge technologies, open educational resource sharing, and intercultural exchanges via videoconferencing. With partners in Taiwan, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bolivia, Ecuador, and the USA, the ICU network is seeking partners in other time zones to encourage first-person accounting of local realities to problem-solve glocal solutions to global sustainable challenges and to collaborate on OER.

Stoloff, David L. (Saturday December 11, 2021 10:00am – 11:00am UTC).
Place-based pedagogy, OER, and ICUs: Connecting glocal undergraduates. A session at the OERcamp.global 2021, hosted by the German Commission for UNESCO and Agentur J&K – Jöran und Konsorten.
Abstract
Undergraduates and faculty members in an evolving Intercultural Connections among Universities (ICUs) network have begun to share their local perspectives of their worlds on a global stage using video conferencing as an open educational resource. With partners in nine nations, the ICU network invites other faculty to consider connecting their undergraduates to practice international communication, initiate problem-solving on sustainability, and to work towards greater understanding of world diversity.
